As the Associate Vice President of Federal Compliance at CareSource, Deonys de Cardenas oversees the federal Medicare and Qualified Health Plan/Marketplacecompliance teams, 3rd Party Risk and Oversight team, and CareSource's regulatory distribution management team. Prior to joining CareSource, Deonys led theAmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies Select Health of South Carolina's Medicare-Medicaid Plan. Deonys also previously oversaw the compliance andprivacy department at Select Health of South Carolina. Prior to working in the insurance provider space, Deonys was an associate in Womble Carlyle Sandridgeand Rice's Healthcare Practice Group in the firm's Atlanta office where she focused her law practice on health law and regulatory compliance, particularlyMedicare reimbursement matters. Prior to joining Womble Carlyle, Deonys served as Legal Advisor, Director of Government Appeals in the ComplianceDepartment at Piedmont Healthcare.
