Donna Abbondandolo

Donna is the Chief Compliance Officer for Bon Secours Mercy Health responsible for their global Compliance, Privacy and Data Protection programs in the US and Ireland. She also serves as a member of the Bon Secours Health System CLG, Ireland and the Roper St Francis Health Board Audit and Compliance Committees. Donna brings with her over 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, serving in various Compliance and Leadership roles. Prior to joining Bon Secours Mercy Health, Donna served in Compliance leadership positions for several large healthcare networks in New York and the Program Director for the Health Information Management Bachelor?s degree program and adjunct faculty for Long Island University, C.W. Post ? holding this role for 9 years. Donna has a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Hofstra University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from Long Island University, C.W. Post. She is a Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) professional, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional (CHIAP), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). Her role in healthcare and compliance has encompassed all aspects of healthcare operations and implementation of regulatory requirements. She has participated in National and State initiatives relative to healthcare compliance, data protection, privacy, reimbursement, and certification standard setting processes. Donna also serves on the Editorial Board for Compliance Today Magazine and has presented regularly at HCCA conferences.
