Ian Johansson
Chief Government Affairs and Compliance Officer, Health Plan of San Mateo
Ian serves as the Chief Government Affairs and Compliance Officer for the Health Plan of San Mateo (HPSM), a Medicaid health plan based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this role, he drives strategic initiatives to further HPSM's mission and vision that "Healthy is for Everyone" through advocacy and fostering a culture of compliance. He has spent 20 years working for community affiliated health plans, having previously served as the Corporate Compliance Officer for AlohaCare, and Associate Director of Regulatory Affairs at Partnership HealthPlan of California. Ian has extensive experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA compliance, and is deeply committed to serving organizations with a local, community-based focus. Ian is a double Aggie, having graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.A. in political science in 2003, and an MBA in 2022.
