Judy Ringholz

Judy Ringholz is recognized for her knowledge and experience in healthcare compliance. Her career as a clinical nurse, nursing administrator, hospital risk manager, nurse paralegal, director of compliance training and program effectiveness, chief compliance officer, and senior counsel in the Administrative and Civil Remedies (enforcement) Branch of the US HHS OIG enables her to analyze compliance issues from a global perspective. While at the OIG, Judy was responsible for monitoring individual and corporate integrity agreements around the US and managing self-disclosures and exclusion appeals. She served as chief compliance officer for three large US health systems from 2013 to 2025. Judy has published in Legal Nurse Consulting: Principles and Practice, the Journal of Healthcare Compliance, and Compliance Today and is a member of the editorial committee for the Complete Healthcare Compliance Manual. She is honored to have served on the Board for SCCE/HCCA from 2018-24 and routinely speaks at national and regional conferences, most often on medical necessity, quality of care, and compliance program effectiveness. Her concerns about the ramifications of conflicts of interest on medical necessity and quality of care led her to her current position as senior managing director for Conflixis.
