Senior Counsel, Office of Counsel to the Inspector General

I am Senior Counsel with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services office of Inspector General. I work in the Administrative and Civil Remedies Branch of Counsel?s Office. Prior to joining the government, I worked as a health care attorney in private practice, focusing on white collar defense work and regulatory matters. In my current position, I focus, among other things, on providing advice to DOJ on False Claims Act cases, resolving provider self-disclosures, initiating and resolving Civil Monetary Penalty and exclusion matters, monitoring Corporate Integrity Agreements, and defending the Inspector General in exclusion appeal cases. I also review regulations and draft guidance, including fraud alerts and advisory opinions.
