Marla Berkow

Marla Berkow, CHC, CCHP is the Corporate Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer for the Gateway Foundation, a nonprofit provider of substance use disorder treatment, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Marla currently oversees and implements Gateway Foundation's Corporate Compliance Program and has worked in health related regulatory compliance since 2004. In 2021 Marla received the Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP) designation, a distinction earned from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, which promotes standards for appropriate delivery of health care in the correctional environment. Marla has been published in Health Law Connections magazine and Compliance Today magazine and has been a presenter for the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) and Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) web conferences. Marla received her Health Care Compliance Certificate from Hamline University School of Law (now Mitchell Hamline). Marla has also completed formal studies in yoga, meditation and mantra and holds a Certificate from Mosaic College, a leadership program with a focus on scripture study, ministry skill-building, and character development.
