Nancy Beckley is President of Nancy Beckley & Associates LLC providing compliance consulting services to therapy providers and programs. Nancy is certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Healthcare Compliance Certification Board and is the Social Media columnist for Compliance Today penning the “Connectivity” column and serves on the Editorial Board. She was featured on the cover of the September, 2014 issue of Compliance Today.
Her expertise in compliance encompasses client representation in Medicare probe reviews, RAC audits, ZPIC investigations, OIG Audits, DOJ investigations, Corporate Integrity Agreements, Medicaid program reviews, as well as state regulatory investigations. Her insight and expertise is respected in the due diligence process of therapy mergers and acquisitions space over the past 10 years. As an outsourced compliance officer Nancy has overseen internal investigations involving a variety of topics including patient abuse, documentation falsification, and program exclusion and licensee sanctions.
As the co-host of the popular RAC Monitor podcast “Monitor Monday” Nancy has become friends and colleagues with thousands of compliance professionals across the county who have tuned in on Monday mornings for the past 9 years.
Her articles have appeared in a number of national publications and she serves on the Editorial Board of Rehab Management. She has authored articles for Compliance Today, where she also serves as the “Connectivity” social media columnist. Nancy serves as Compliance Columnist for IMPACT, the journal of the American Physical Therapy Private Practice Section. She was the long-time Contributing Editor for Briefings on Outpatient Rehab: Reimbursement and Regulations, and authored the Q & A column.
Nancy is a nationally known speaker on rehab compliance and has presented at compliance conferences including the Provider Practice Compliance Conference, Florida Compliance Conference, Chicago Regional, Florida Regional and the Compliance Institute. Currently Nancy serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Rehabilitation Agencies & Providers (NARA). She previously served on the Part A and Part B Provider Outreach Education and Advisory Panel for First Coast Services Options (Florida Medicare). She also served on CMS’s Professional Expert Technical Panel for Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (CORF).
A popular speaker and trainer, Nancy conducts seminars, webinars, and web-based educational programs focused on rehab compliance. A signature offering is Annual Compliance Training, consistent with OIG Guidance with courses on Fraud and Abuse and Documentation, Coding and Billing.
She is the author of a book on rehab managed care contracting: Managed Care for Rehab Providers Made Easy: Mastering Contracts and Obtaining Fair Reimbursement and also authored a book on therapy recruitment: The Essential Guide to Recruitment and Retention: Skills for Therapy Managers
Previously, Nancy held a number of management positions including Director of Managed Care & Business Development for Tampa General Hospital, a 1000 bed public tertiary teaching hospital system with a 60-bed freestanding rehabilitation center. A therapist by background and training, Nancy has served as a manager, program director, and facility executive director in rehabilitation facilities.
