Katie Fink is Senior Counsel at the Office of Inspector General (OIG) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Ms. Fink represents the OIG in the investigation, litigation, and resolution of civil and administrative health care fraud matters, including those arising under the False Claims Act, Anti-kickback Statute, Stark Law, Civil Monetary Penalties Law, EMTALA, and OIG exclusion authorities. She also drafts and negotiates corporate integrity agreements between the OIG and settling defendants. Katie recently returned from a detail as a Special Trial Attorney at DOJ's Criminal Division, Health Care Fraud Unit. While on detail, Ms. Fink prosecuted health care fraud cases in Detroit as part of the Medicare Fraud Strike Force. Ms. Fink co-authored the OIG's Roadmap for New Physicians: Avoiding Medicare and Medicaid Fraud and Abuse. She is a graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Law and obtained her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.
