Ms. Treese Berlin is Senior Counsel with the Administrative and Civil Remedies Branch of the Office of Counsel to the Inspector General, U.S. Department ofHealth and Human Services. In that capacity, Ms. Treese Berlin handles a wide-range of health care fraud and compliance cases involving the False Claims Act,Civil Monetary Penalties Law, exclusion appeals, and the monitoring of Corporate Integrity Agreements. Prior to her current position, Ms. Treese Berlin was aSenior Attorney for the Medicare Appeals Council at the Departmental Appeals Board, focusing on Medicare coverage issues. Ms. Treese Berlin also served as amediator, facilitator, and trainer for the Board’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Division. Previously, Ms. Treese Berlin worked with the Blair County, Pennsylvania,Court of Common Pleas, and was in private practice. Ms. Treese Berlin graduated from Juniata College, Duquesne University School of Law, and earned dualcertification in complex and family mediation from George Mason University (NVMS).
