Martha Arvin
VP, Chief Compliance Officer, Erlanger Health System
Marti Arvin is the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for the Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga TN. She has more than three decades of experience in healthcare most of which was focused on compliance, research, privacy, information security, governance, and regulatory oversight. Marti is an attorney and she holds the CHC-F, CCEP-F, CHRC, and CHPC certifications. She was awarded the Health Care Compliance Association?s Compliance Professional of the Year award in 2007. She has served as an expert witness on privacy and information security in multiple legal cases. Her compliance career also included serving as a Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for four different academic medical centers over an 18-year span, the most recent prior to Erlanger Health System being the UCLA Health System and the David Geffen School of Medicine.
Prior to joining Erlanger, she was VP, Compliance and Privacy services for CynergisTek, Inc., a healthcare consulting company, providing compliance, privacy, information security, and business development services to healthcare organizations. Her consulting clients included a variety of organizations such as academic medical centers, physician practices, traditional hospital institutions, and business associates. She supported clients? by helping create an understanding of the relationship of information security and privacy to the overall business goals and strategies of the healthcare organization.
